Omaha enjoys a cost of living that is 8% lower than the national average. Wondering where many of our College Possible AmeriCorps coaches live? Here are five Omaha neighborhoods to scope out for housing if you’re looking for an affordable studio or one-bedroom apartment. They’re easily accessible by public transportation and stipend-budget friendly.

  • Aksarben: Accessible by Route 11 and Route 18

  • Dundee: Accessible by ORBT and Route 98

  • Benson: Accessible by Route 8 and Route 18

  • Highlander: Accessible by Route 30

  • Blackstone: Accessible by Route 3, Route 11, and Route 15

Getting to work

Getting to the Omaha site is a breeze with public transportation. Our office is located less than 10 minutes walking distance from the metro Route 18. The MyRideOMA app allows easy trip planning, bus tracking, arrival times and more. The Moovit app allows you to set your destination and it will provide different routes to utilize. 

 

If you prefer to get around by bike or electric scooter, check out Heartland Bikeshare or Lime scooter rentals from the City of Omaha for affordable rates and station locations.
